Scion Vehicles (Toyota) Toyota’s Scion line of vehicles is very popular with the hip, “twenty-something” market. Toyota sells the three models via a select number of their 6,000 U.S. dealerships that have been certified to sell Scions in addition to Toyota and Lexus cars. To maintain the certification to sell Scions, each dealership must train their sales professionals on an on-going basis. In order to facilitate effective sales training and up-to-date product knowledge, Toyota hired Timberline Interactive to create ScionSays.com. Although the site is not public-facing, it is available to all Scion sales professionals via computer kiosks in each Scion dealership. The two main sections of the site are Quick Vehicle Facts (QVF) and Scion Accessories. The QVF section displays vehicle features, animations, printable specification sheets, competitive comparisons, a powerful on-site search capability, and more. The Accessories section allows the user to choose their car, then see photos and specifications on any accessory that is available for it, including competitive information on aftermarket items. In addition, ScionSays offers a user forum, product spotlights, and industry news to help Scion sales staff to easily keep up with changes in the marketplace. Timberline constructed ScionSays.com almost entirely using Macromedia Flash technology in concert with Microsoft .NET and SQL server—all of which provides Toyota with an industrial strength, highly attractive sales tool in each Scion dealership. |
